From mixed decidous woods with chestnuts trees to beech and coniferous trees with red and white fir trees. The wildest area of the Alps is an ideal habitat for several animals! In the sky we can admire the golden eagle, peregrine falcons, owls and black woodpeckers while in the woods we can see chamois, roes, deers and also foxes, beech martens and badgers!
Let’s learn how to recognize the passage of different animals through their footprints left on the ground, recording different sounds and identifing the voices… we will no longer be afraid of the real inhabitants of the park!

Walking experience:
Suna-Cavandone-Fondotoce
From the medieval village of Suna there’s a trail that leads to Monterosso (Red Mount), passing through chestnuts woods and panoramic points. During the walking you will admire human figures engraved on portals and arches, that recall the prehistoric past of the area, when Celtic-Ligurian tribes settled on the slopes of the Mount.
Then you’ll arrive in Cavandone, where there’s a breath-taking view on Lake Maggiore and Ossola’s Valleys.
Olive groves and vineyards that still remind us of a story not yet ended… and also a centuries-old yew, symbol of the village.

Trekking around
Mottarone Mount
Accompanied by a naturalistic guide you will have the opportunity to walk on the Mount of Lake Maggiore, admiring an amazing panorama on seven different lakes, Monte Rosa chain, the Swiss and Italian Alps and the Po Valley!
With a panoramic cable ride from Stresa you will reach the top of the Mount for a 2 hours and a half walking experience.
Then you’ll return to Stresa with the cable car.
